Nathan and Kate had their first piano recital today. They played so nicely! No nerves, no mess-ups, and they looked like they actually didn't mind it too much. Their mamma and daddy are so proud....

Heather's new toy
Dave and the kids got me an iPhone for Mother's Day and I am having so much fun with it! I'm attempting my first blog post from here, so nothing fancy this time but more posts to come.

Pioneer Day
Nathan's 3rd grade class is finishing up a unit on Pioneers, and the finale was "Pioneer Day," a half day event of pioneer-themed crafts, food and games. The kids dressed up as pioneers too. Nathan says, "Mom, they didn't smile back then," which explains his expression in the first photo. I had fun at school helping the kids make Johnny Cakes (cornmeal pancakes) and homemade butter. The kids had a great time (and the moms had some fun too).Artist of the Week
Kate was artist of the week at school this week. Her block print was displayed outside the cafeteria and her name was announced on the school's broadcast system. She was very proud!
